National Headquarters, NJ – On April 16, 2004, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. was named a local honoree of USA WEEKEND Magazine, for its national community service project conducted on Make a Difference Day 2003. Specifically, the chapters of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. participated in the first-ever "Advance our Youth…LTA Style", a national service project where sisters across the nation outreached to their communities’ youth by coordinating a one-day mentoring workshop to local grade, middle, and high school youth, which was designed to encourage higher education and healthy developmental lives among potentially at-risk youth. Consequently, Lambda Theta Alpha is also mentioned in the April 16-18, 2004 issue of USA WEEKEND Magazine for their efforts towards this cause.
Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. is a philanthropic-based Greek letter organization whose mission includes the fostering of academic excellence and promotion of community activism in all arenas, as well as the sponsorship of cultural and educational programs.
