Beta Iota Chapter, Arizona State University, AZ — Saturday October 18, 2003 Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. Beta Iota chapter in conjunction with local Sorority Eta Sigma Psi Multicultural Sorority hosted their First Annual Women s Conference (sponsored by ASU Intergroup Relations Center and the ASU Book Store). This year's conference theme, "Discover the Ultimate Women Within" recognized the willingness of all women motivated, dedicated, and ready to improve themselves. Lambda Theta Alpha and Eta Sigma Psi kicked off the conference with a continental breakfast and a few words from our motivational speaker Frances Arvallo-Brashear (Beta Iota Chapter Alumni/Founding Sister). Through out the conference there were three breakout sessions where participants learned financial planning, self esteem & self respect, Arizona State University outreach, and sexual education just to name a few. This year our conference attendees enhanced their knowledge in decision-making, voter registration, and career and professional opportunities. We culminated the day with a small lunch. To end our day s events we offered opportunities to win giveaways and a networking sessions for all participants to become familiar with each other and those that put together the conference.
