National Headquarters, NJ – On Saturday, November 22, 2003 the sisters of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. and Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Inc. came together for a joint community service at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside, NJ. Together, the sisters from both organizations proudly exemplified the true meaning of volunteering, empowering our respective sisterhoods, and Greek unity between two esteemed organizations.

Over 50 sisters from both organizations took part in the service's events, taking on various tasks including labeling, sorting and packaging various food items for the homeless in New Jersey. This day proved to be a great day for the organizations to unite as women and carry out our organizations' goals of supporting our communities continuously.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. is a philanthropic-based Greek letter organization whose mission includes the fostering of academic excellence and promotion of community activism in all arenas, as well as the sponsorship of cultural and educational programs. As the first Latin Sorority in the nation established in 1975, Lambda Theta Alpha closes in on its 28th year and reflects with great pride on the numerous accomplishments the organization has achieved since its inception. Together as women, as leaders, activists, mothers, wives, students and professionals, Lambda Theta Alpha grows stronger as universal women.
