December 7, 2002: 17th Annual Wine & Cheese
Sister only event at Kean University from 5:30 - 10pm. The $20 fee per sister is due to your respective Area Finance Supervisor/Alumnae Executive Finance Advisor no later than October 6, 2002. This year Lambda Theta Alpha will be sending two National Board of Directors to the NALFO Convention in San Diego. National President Marisol Cerdeira and National Executive Vice President Jennifer Benitez will represent us in this event where latino fraternities and sororities come together to partake in presentations, meetings, workshops, community events, and the 2nd Annual NALFO Awards Gala sponsored by LatinoGreeks.com.

Lambda Theta Alpha has been nominated for the following awards:

NALFO (National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations) is an umbrella council for Latino Greek Letter Organizations. The purpose of NALFO is to promote and foster positive interfraternal relations, communication, and development of all Latino Fraternal organizations through mutual respect, leadership, honesty, professionalism and education. October 4-6, 2002: National Black Greek Leadership Conference
Lambda Theta Alpha will be sending National Director of Public Relations Samantha Ellman and National Director of Finance Jennifer Schambon to represent us at the NBGLC in Kansas.

The theme of the conference is "Coming Together Piece by Peace." The NBGLC addresses relevant issues that face students and advisors on our campuses. In order to have change we must come together for the betterment of all members in Greek Letter organizations. The Conference promises to offer its participants a wealth of knowledge and practical applications on issues that face minority Greek Letter organizations. The conference will also offer the opportunity for advisors to explore ways to assist minority Greek Letter organizations through workshops, forums and the sharing of information. This year's NBGLC will provide a leadership track for Latino Organizations as well.

The Black Greek Leadership Conference was founded in 1986 on the campus of Central Missouri State University and is designed to address issues that face minority Greek Letter organizations. For more information on BGLC and the conference, please visit http://www.ukans.edu/-oma/conference.

July 20-24, 2002: NCLR Annual Conference
Líderes - Youth Leadership Summit
The Líderes summit brings together students, youth leaders, and activists from community-based programs and campus-based organizations throughout the country. Participants develop leadership and teamwork skills, share their experiences, explore ideas for community involvement and empowerment, and discuss issues that face the Latino community all while taking advantage of the NCLR Annual Conference through networking and mentorship.

The NCLR Annual Conference has been described as "the single most important event in the Latino community in the United States. More than 15,000 participants attend, and the conference features: over 40 substantive workshops, three nationally-recognized keynote speakers, four consecutive nights of headline entertainment, and a consumer Expo featuring over 200 public, private, and non-profit sector exhibitors.

August 10-11, 2002: 1st Annual Latino Greek Games
The 1st Annual Latino Greek Games objective is to raise monetary support for national and local charitable organizations through cultivating leadership, service, and community within the LGLO community and the greater New York area. Roberto Clemente State Park in association with LatinosStep.com aims to promote diversity and understanding of difference through partnership with campus and community organizations. July 28, 2002: National Annual Sisterhood Picnic
